Presently, Christian Richter is Professor of Economics and Dean of the School of Business at the University of Hertfordshire, hosted by the Global Academic Foundation. Richter has studied Economics at the Universities of Mainz, Glasgow, and Strathclyde. He received his PhD from the University of Strathclyde in 2001. 

In 2009, Richter won a merit award at Kingston University. Six years later, in 2015, Richter won the Ernst Wagemann prize for best paper in Economics in 2013-2014 in Applied Economics Quarterly.  

Professor Richter’s main areas of research are Behavioural Economics and Finance, Convergence of Business Cycles, Eurozone Crisis, Financial Economics, Time-Frequency Analysis and Climate Change. In addition, Professor Richter has published more than 40 papers in international journals. Richter won research grants from the Leverhulme Trust as well as from the Austrian Central Bank and the DAAD.  

Professor Christian Richter held various academic positions in the United Kingdom, such as the University of Bedfordshire, the University of East London, Kingston University in London, Loughborough University, Cardiff University and the University of Strathclyde. After that, Richter was the Founding Head of the Business School at Coventry University in Egypt at The Knowledge Hub, and the Head of Department and Vice Dean Academic at the German University in Cairo
